The quality of the music is way down, all of it entirely forgettable. I was hoping that Logos would at least sustain that level of quality (watchable, mildly entertaining) from the first two but no, it’s worse than either by far, and there are so many reasons why, let’s get the easy ones out of the way first. I thought the first was better than average, and the EVOL anime was better than that, although with the caveat that the lows were lower and EVOL was frequently a victim of the era (I’m talking about the fanservice). Everything else is kind of interchangeable, from the forgettable cast of side-characters, to the monster-of-the-week style focus of the bulk of the episodes. 3 main characters, 2 male-coded, 1 female-coded, robots, a predilection for 12,000 year gaps between historical and current events, and the one good song that everyone knows. Generally speaking, a pattern has emerged. (Edit: It turns out that I don’t! I wrote a whole thing about this anime you probably shouldn’t watch!)Īquarion Logos is the third anime in the Aquarion series. Just don’t be surprised when I call it quits partway through and just insist that no one should watch it.
I really hate Aquarion Logos, but let’s try to go into a little bit more detail as to why. I’ve never been particularly good at the opposite, mostly just going with, “Gee, I really hate this!” and leaving it at that. You can extract meaning from a game or show that you already love, and acquire even more reasons to keep loving it. It’s always a lot of fun to go in-depth critically with the things that you love.
Those of you who get that horrid joke in the title, feel free to boo me! It’s like a sour note but for words because…oh whatever.
